It is with mixed emotions that I am hereby no longer breeding. I am happy to provide referrals to breeders and assist with any questions you may have about our breed that I am able to help you with.
For as long as I can remember I have had a love for the American Cocker Spaniel. Growing up in the Military we moved every three years, often overseas, which was not very conducive to having a family pet, however, on the occasions that we could, we always had an American Cocker.
As a birthday gift in 2005 my father gave me a buff male American Cocker… and so began the next phase in my lifelong love for this breed.
In 2009 I contacted Jean DeWolfe of Shadyhill Kennels to inquire about adding a new Cocker to our family. Jean graciously allowed Shadyhill’s Belladonna to come to our home on her retirement. Not long after, CH Shadyhill’s Heart Song, Lyric also came to live with us on her retirement.
CH Shadyhill’s Swan Song, Moke came to us in June 2012 and we entered the Confirmation dog show world together. Moke became my first owner/handler Canadian Champion with multiple Best Puppy in Group wins.
Currently I live in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, Canada with my husband David and our 3 American Cockers. We encourage you to visit us at our home to see how our dogs are raised and socialized. It is our objective to breed healthy puppies who will be a happy addition to your family.
We breed from parents who have annual eye testing, health testing for Thyroid levels, hips x-rayed and registered with OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) as well as DNA for Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA). Our puppies are socialized from birth and will come to you immunized, vet checked, microchipped, and are all sold with the CKC Non-Breeding agreement in place.
